Organization Background
MALO is a Pacific Islander serving organization that went from focusing on cultural preservation to becoming a frontline organization in 2020 working to connect resources and voicing the needs of their people during COVID. Underserved, underrepresented, and under resourced, Tongans have been a marginalized for far too long. Today, MALO is becoming a strong advocate for Tongan communities in the IE.

2021 | $20,000 | Towards the establishment of a women’s health program. Several members will become trained promotores and will educate Tongan women about their bodies, health, and self-care individually and in groups. MALO will certify two Zumba instructors who will offer fun exercise classes with a Tongan flavor as part of the health program. |
