Organization Background
Lideres Campesinas / Farmworker Women Leaders – Eastern Coachella Valley Chapter is part of a statewide network of farmworker women and girls in California. It is community driven and led with most of the board, staff, and members coming directly from farm working families. Lideres Campesinas serves low-income women and girls and their families employed in the farmworker industry. Most adult women have very low educational attainment, they are Latino or Mexican Indigenous, and are oftentimes undocumented. Women farmworkers endure harsh working conditions including pesticide exposure and sexual harassment in the workplace. Lideres Campesinas’ mission is to strengthen the leadership of farmworker wome.

They will assist them with completing health care coverage applications such as Medi-Cal, Covered California, and Riverside's Medically Indigent Services Program and to receive medical services such as pap smears, mammograms, and mental health services. |
