Organization Background
For over ten years, Ujima Inc. has been doing grassroots fundraising for the purpose of distributing scholarship funds to African American healthcare students. Their goal is to help build a workforce of African American health professionals who are committed to addressing racial health disparities that disproportionately impact African Americans. Statistics show that health outcomes are improved when African American patients receive skilled, compassionate, culturally appropriate, and respectful care from other African American health professionals.
