Guillermo J. Valenzuela, MD.

The Guillermo J. Valenzuela Foundation was established in 2015 by Dr. Valenzuela. As a
physician living and practicing in the Inland Empire for many years, Dr. V (as he is known to
friends and colleagues) had long recognized that he had benefitted from this community. For
years he had given to worthy causes in the community, but Dr. V was inspired to set up the
Foundation with the specific goal of improving the health of underserved communities in the
Inland Empire.

Originally from Chile, Dr. V came to the US to complete his medical education and settled in the
Inland Empire in the 1980s. As an OB-GYN physician, board-certified in Maternal Fetal
Medicine, Dr. V established a network of private clinics and serves as the Chair of Women’s
Health at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Dr. V earned an MBA for Health Care and has
owned and operated several successful health care businesses. He has published more than 100
papers in peer-reviewed journals and is past president of the San Bernardino County Medical
Society. Dr. V has not only distinguished himself on the medical front; he has also done so in the
philanthropic community.

His philanthropy outside the Foundation includes the Dream Project at Colton High School. For
more than ten years now, the Dream Project has provided financial assistance, tutoring and
other support to at-risk students. The project boasts a 100% graduation rate for students who

He also established the annual TECH Laptop Scholarship Program in Riverside through which he
has personally awarded more than 250 laptop computers to elementary school students in the
Riverside Unified School District over the past 10 years.

Like the Dream Project and the Scholarship program, the Foundation reflects Dr. Valenzuela’s
commitment to invest in the communities that have contributed to his success. At a recent
event recognizing the 2019 Valenzuela Foundation grantees, Dr. V said, “I want you to know
that my goal with this Foundation is that it become a mirror of all of you. Each of you in this
room is working to improve the health of our communities. I want this Foundation to do the
same. I am in awe of what each of you do with your time and your talent to advance our shared
goal of improving people’s lives. I want this Foundation to be a part of the fabric of our
