John Hanusz joined the board of the Valenzuela Foundation in 2022. John is the principal of the law firm Hanusz Law, PC, where he represents individuals and corporations in complex criminal and ancillary matters. He has successfully represented hundreds of clients in a wide variety of matters, including investigations by government, educational, and religious institutions, and trial and appellate proceedings. John began his legal career in Atlanta, Georgia, where he represented death-sentenced individuals in state and federal habeas corpus proceedings. He then served as a Deputy Federal Public Defender in the Central District of California. Most recently, he was a partner at a Los Angeles litigation boutique. John previously worked as a journalist in Los Angeles and a book editor in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Upon joining the board, John said, “It is an honor to work with Dr. V and the Foundation to identify and provide funding to those organizations improving the lives of those in need in the Inland Empire. Having started my career at a small nonprofit organization, I have seen firsthand the difference that these grants can make.”
